What this service is

Mitpet keeps a durable record for a pet — identity, health, pedigree and verification — and helps people find animals and each other. We are not a shop, a veterinary service, or a party to any arrangement you make with another person.

Three different things

Adoption and rehoming is finding a new home for an animal that already exists. Responsible breeding is planning a litter with evidence behind it. Commercial sale is neither of those, and it is not something this platform supports. Presenting a commercial sale as an adoption is grounds for removal.

What verification means, and does not

Each verification badge says that one specific piece of evidence was submitted and accepted by a reviewer. That is all it says. It is not a guarantee of an animal’s health, temperament or pedigree, and it does not guarantee the outcome of any adoption, breeding arrangement or meeting. Take your own veterinary advice.

What we ask of you

• Describe animals honestly, including the difficult parts.
• Do not upload photos that are not yours.
• Do not claim health, pedigree or genetic facts you cannot evidence.
• Do not use the platform to arrange anything unlawful where you live.
• Keep arrangements on the platform until you choose to share contact details.

Moderation

Listings, photos and messages are reviewed. Anyone can report content, and every moderator decision is recorded. If a decision goes against you, you can appeal it and a different person will look again.

Your data

Exact locations, raw veterinary documents, microchip and registry numbers and identity documents are private. Some of it becomes visible to one specific person after an adoption or breeding workflow is approved — never to the public web. Identity documents are deleted on a fixed retention schedule. You can close your account and request deletion; records we are required to retain for fraud or legal reasons are kept separately from your public profile.

Money

No payments pass through this platform. An adoption fee, if there is one, is arranged directly between the two of you. Anyone asking you to send money through this site is not following the rules — report them.
